Top Sites For Money Making Online

Everyone knows using relevant keywords on your website is the best way to optimize your website so the search engines will pick it up. But how do you analyze your website to see if you are getting the results you want? Here’s a quick lesson in how to do this.

You can go to the Google website to use a feature called the “external keyword tool.” This feature lets you see the “footprint” of your website according to Google which basically tells you how Google has it categorized and what keywords are showing up as relevant to your site.

You can find the external keyword tool by simply going to the Google site and then typing in “Google external keyword tool” to do a search. Click on the first link that comes up on the page to get to the actual tool. Then, choose “website content” on the left side.

Next enter your domain name (or the url of the domain you want to look at) and select the “include other pages” option. Now pick “get keyword ideas.” After a short wait, you will be able to see a list of suggested keywords. Go down to where it says “showing keywords grouped by these terms.”

You’ll soon be looking at a list of highlighted links. I refer to these as the “themes” Google has recognized as being the main focus of your website. In addition to analyzing your own site using this tool, you can also do this to assess the footprint of any competitor’s website. This provides you with some valuable insight as to how you compare to your competition from the Google perspective.

The $365K Blog Traffic Formula

You want to see if your site is truly about the topics you want to be featured under. In other words, if a particular keyword brings your site up, is that the keyword you want browsers to associate with your site? If your site is being linked with inappropriate keywords or content, you may want to adjust the content and keywords accordingly to get the results you need.

The themes you will see are pretty much prioritized by Google according to what appears to be most relevant. So again, if your site is showing up heavily under a particular keyword but not showing up much under searches for something that is truly the focus of your site, you will want to adjust your keywords accordingly.

You want to select terms that are most relevant and also have a good number of searches showing up. These words will become the anchor text for back-links to your site. Back- links are a very effective way of optimizing your website for the search engines to increase your hits.

Rather than just guessing about the effectiveness of your search engine marketing & optimization, use the Google data to see what real people are using as terms to search for information and what terms are getting results for your site. Take advantage of Google’s intelligence to make your search engine marketing easier. This is the smart way to find out what works most efficiently.
